Marie Antoinette’s Village in Versailles

Starting point of boat rides on the lake, the fishery tower known as the Malborough Tower, housed equipment for pike or carp fishing. The tower was used as a lookout making it possible to communicate with the palace of Versailles via signals. The tower name was based on a song written in 1722 about the death of the Duke of Malborough.
