Sightseeing on a Winter’s Day in Copenhagen
November 2011You’ve shopped til you’ve dropped, and the cold wind is nipping at your nose. It’s time to end the afternoon and time to get a hot something to warm you up, and that something is hot chocolate! We’re talking about real and yummy drinking chocolate, what a perfect way to end your sightseeing day in Copenhagen. Head over to one of the city’s great cafes, La Glace, located on a side street close to Stroget.
La Glace
This Copenhagen institution is loved by both by tourists and locals and has a wonderful feel of decadence, of days gone by, when women would meet to sit over coffee and pastries, while chatting away an afternoon, forgetting about the dreadful weather outside.
Copenhagen’s oldest pastry shop is famous for its wide selection of homemade pattiserie, including, obviously, danish pastries. Sit and show off your shopping finds, have some delicious hot chocolate, take photographs of the beautiful display of cakes in the window, and get your chill-out.

I don’t like cold weather, and I can’t imagine visiting Denmark in the winter, but I’m glad you introduced the rundetarn. A tower with a ramp instead of steps. That’s my speed.
Making our rounds on the Carnival of Cities. I had never considered Copenhagen for a Girlfriends Getaway! Great post.
Great post. There are so many wonderful attractions, landmarks and fun neighborhoods to visit in Copenhagen.
